This is a glossary to help you understand some terms that are mostly used in the business world.

Accounting
Noun
The system of recording and summarizing business and financial transactions and analyzing, verifying, and reporting the results also : the principles and procedures of this system studied Accounting as a freshman.
Example: To be in accounting, you have to be good with mathematics.

Administrator
Noun
An Administrator provides office support to either an individual or team and is vital for the smooth-running of a business. Their duties may include fielding telephone calls, receiving and directing visitors, word processing, creating spreadsheets and presentations, and filing.
Example: An administrator is the one who manages a team of employees.

Chief executive director
Noun
A chief executive officer (CEO) is the highest-ranking executive in a company. Broadly speaking, a chief executive offices primary responsibilities include making major corporate decisions, managing the overall operations and resources of a company, acting as the main point of communication between the board of directors and corporate operations. In many cases, the chief executive officer serves as the public face of the company.
Example: Elon Musk is the Chief Executive Director (CEO) of Tesla.

Someone who gets paid to work for a person or company. Workers don't need to work full time to be considered employees—they simply need to be paid to work by an employer.
Example: In a business, you need employees.

An entrepreneur is an individual who creates a new business, bearing most of the risks and enjoying most of the rewards. The process of setting up a business is known as entrepreneurship. The entrepreneur is commonly seen as an innovator, a source of new ideas, goods, services, and business/or procedures.
Example: Elon musk is also an entrepreneur.

Finance is a term for matters regarding the management, creation, and study of money and investments. Finance can be broadly divided into three categories: Public finance, Corporate finance, and Personal finance.
Example: Finance is a branch that is part of the business world.

Human resource
Noun
Human resources (HR) is the division of a business that is charged with finding, screening, recruiting, and training job applicants, as well as administering employee-benefit programs. HR plays a key role in helping companies deal with a fast-changing business environment and a greater demand for quality employees in the 21st century.
Example: Human resources do several tasks such as recruiting new employees, interpersonal relations in the company or even training new employees

Management
Noun
Management is the coordination and administration of tasks to achieve a goal. Such administration activities include setting the organization’s strategy and coordinating the efforts of staff to accomplish these objectives through the application of available resources. Management can also refer to the seniority structure of staff members within an organization.
Example: Management is the one who takes the strategic decisions that are necessary for the success of the objectives.

A market is a place where parties can gather to facilitate the exchange of goods and services. The parties involved are usually buyers and sellers. The market may be physical like a retail outlet, where people meet face-to-face, or virtual like an online market, where there is no direct physical contact between buyers and sellers.
Example: The target market can be chosen by gender, age or preferences.

Marketing refers to activities a company undertakes to promote the buying or selling of a product or service. Marketing includes advertising, selling, and delivering products to consumers or other businesses. Some marketing is done by affiliates on behalf of a company.
Example: Marketing is a way to seduce potential customers to buy your service or your product.

The amount of money you define to an object or a service.
Example: Price is set by supply and demand.

An article or substance that is manufactured or refined for sale.
Example: A product is often bought by desire and not by need.

Profit
Noun
Profit describes the financial benefit realized when revenue generated from a business activity exceeds the expenses, costs, and taxes involved in sustaining the activity in question. Any profits earned funnel back to business owners, who choose to either pocket the cash or reinvest it back into the business. Profit is calculated as total revenue less total expenses.
Example: Profit begins to be made when it exceeds the break-even point.

Noun
A person or a company that provides you something. Most of the time is products.
Example: The provider is this one that provides your stock to sell or store.

Publicity
Noun
In marketing, publicity is the public visibility or awareness for any product, service, person or organization (company, charity, etc.). It may also refer to the movement of information from its source to the public, often (but not always) via the media.
Example: Publicity is a tactic in Marketing.

Selling
Verb
Selling is handing over something of value in exchange for money or another item of value. But to get to the point where someone is willing to part with their money to obtain an item or service often requires persuasion.
Example: The ultimate goal of a sales representative is to sell.
